Try the Christmas reading activityFOR THE PERSON TURNING THE PAGES
Read it your way. Pause when you like. See what your reader notices.
Willowwick is being developed for shared reading. The rhyming stories and detailed illustrations offer different things to notice each time you open the book.
Choose an excerpt, look at the pictures together, and see whether the words and themes feel right for your child. The stories are intended for ages 4–8 and reading together.
“What did you notice?” is a place to start. You might talk about Rosie’s question, Toby’s next hop or what Pickle is up to in the corner of a picture. There’s no need to turn every page into a lesson.
Activities are available without an email address. This site does not ask children for their names, photographs, schools or stories. Optional email updates are for adults and specific to Willowwick, with a separate confirmation and an unsubscribe choice.
Try a story sampleStart with the question your reader is curious about. Each book page includes a genuine opening excerpt, so you can try the words and pictures together before requesting a book.
After reading, try the free listening picnic activity. There’s no sign-up and no right answer: just a little time to hear everyone’s ideas.
READ WITH US
